Today we concentrated on grass cutting as the weather is somewhat drier than it has been recently. Rich continued to cut the greens with the Toro hand mower, with the majority of the greens cut Adam and Rob made an application of winter fertiliser to 1-18 greens. We are putting on a slow release nitrogen, potassium and iron fertiliser, applying 8kg of nitrogen, 28kg of potassium and 20kg of iron per hectare. These nutrients are released over a 12 week period and will help maintain sward density over the winter months to prevent further moss invasion and help fill in tine holes. The iron and potassium will also help harden the grass plant to fight against diseases.
Will continued to cut summer tees with a national machine, which is normally used for the tee sides, the wet conditions have made it difficult to cut them without causing damage.
Alistair cut all the surrounds and approaches with the old hand mower, which made a really good job and they are presented well for the time of year.
We continued to blow leaves from around the greens, and pumping water from problem areas on the course.
