Today we started drainage on the 15th fairway, we are going to install 150m of drains into the fairway. There are areas on the fairway that have been stood under water for months due to the amount of rain collecting in the low points. We also started putting in a single drain on the 15th green while the hole is closed. there are several wet areas that collect water after heavy rain. The new drain will allow water to drain away naturally. We also started cutting the hedges which cant be cut with a machine, Will uses a hand hedge trimmer to finish them off.
The water has now dropped back down on holes 21 - 24 it has left a lot of silt and yellowed turf, the land is still saturated, after 6 weeks under water the turf is going to need some time to recover before they are playable once more.
