6th green drain day 3

Adam and Alistair finished off the 6th drain this morning, they first had to mix the rest of the old root zone into the new root zone that they had started yesterday.

The turf was then laid back taking care to ensure the surface is as smooth as possible to ensure good recovery. Once the turf was in position the area was top dressed with root zone, and will be top dressed regularly to help level the surface.
The area was then GUR'd and hooped off to stop golfers walking on the newly laid turf until the turf starts to take hold, then the hoops will be removed.

Good job done, next time it rains we will ensure it has solved the problem. Other work done today was to cut the summer and winter tees with the nationals. With not a lot of growth at this time of the year we use the nationals to tidy growth with out damaging the turf.

Will, Rich, Rob and Scott finished strimming around all the trees on the course so Will started tidying the lane again. Strimming the edges, cutting the verges and blowing off the road.
